Once a year, you get the opportunity to have your say in the drafting of the new public transport timetable. Your feedback can help to tailor the timetable more closely to the needs of passengers.
What is the timetable consultation process?
During the timetable consultation process, the draft timetable is made available to the public. This allows passengers, municipalities and other interested parties to provide feedback before the timetable is finalized.
What is the current status of planning?
The so-called route tablesTarget not accessible show you the current planning status. These drafts are not yet final – which is precisely why your opinion is now needed.
The term “route tables” comes from public transport jargon and refers to individual timetable sections or routes, each of which is presented as a separate planning area.
In Switzerland, these route tables are based on numbers that are each assigned to a section of the route – for example “Route table 700” for Zurich–Bern.
Here’s how to take part
You can share your suggestions, wishes or criticisms regarding the planned timetable with the Federal Office of Transport (FOT) by commenting on the draft timetableTarget not accessible. All feedback is reviewed and incorporated into the final timetable if possible.
What happens with your feedback?
Your comments are passed on to the relevant cantons. The cantons define the range of regional public transport services offered and contribute to their financing. They then decide which adjustments can be implemented.
