Useful information for group travel
Please keep to your reserved times on your day of travel, as we will schedule additional vehicles if necessary. You should also arrive a few minutes before your departure time. If you are travelling by more than one type of transport, make sure you plan enough time for any changes. Check the online timetable at www.sbb.ch before your departure to see if there are any travel disruptions.
Please note that there are routes where reservations are required for groups of at least five or seven people. For this reason, you should consult the online timetable before you travel. These routes are indicated in the timetable.
Please note that a reservation does not guarantee you will have a seat. There is always a mixture of seats and standing places on Postbuses.
No reservation labels are placed on Postbus seats. However, your reservation is still mandatory: firstly, because we may schedule additional vehicles alongside the regular Postbus services if required, and secondly, because your rail/bus/boat connections are earmarked in your reservation (but not guaranteed).
If possible, split up into smaller groups. These smaller groups should use all doors to board the Postbus. This will help to ensure punctual departure and guarantee connections.
Warn your group in good time when approaching your exit stop.
Pay for your group ticket in advance by presenting your reservation confirmation at a staffed public transport sales outlet and not with the Postbus driver. This will ensure a punctual departure and guarantee connections.
Notify us in good time of cancellations and changes to your group reservation. You can inform us of any changes and cancellations at all major railway stations or by contacting PostBus Customer Service by 11 a.m. the day before departure.
Purchasing a group ticket
Product Card
For journeys with PostBus, you need a group ticket in addition to your group reservation. You can purchase this in advance from a staffed public transport point of sale upon presentation of your reservation confirmation.
If you want to place your reservation and purchase your group ticket easily and conveniently online, you can use SBB’s online form.
Please note that you need a SwissPass login to make online reservations via SBB.
Note
SBB has limited reservation capacity for each of its transport partners. If it is not possible to reserve online via SBB due to lack of capacity, please contact PostBus Customer Service using the online form.

People with a Point-to-point Travelcard or modular Travelcard can be included to reach the minimum number of people for a group, provided the entire route of the group ticket is covered. If only part of the journey is covered by your own tickets, separate group tickets will need to be purchased for each stage of the trip.
